Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal was the only notable absentee from the squads announced on Tuesday scheduled to participate in a three-match Twenty20 Challenge Series at Mirpur.
Tamim, who is still nursing an injury on his abdomen, was left out as the national side will be up against the A side in three T20s to be played on December 10, 12 and 14. The dashing left-handed opener will not be fit before December 20, according to national team physio Vibhav Singh.
Premier all-rounder Sakib al Hasan was back to the national fold as he was picked in the national side to be captained by Mushfiqur Rahim while the A side will be lead by Nasir Hossain.
The Bangladeshi team management has arranged the series as part of the national side’s preparation as the cricketers are free from any engagements until December 26, when the National Cricket League will get underway.
