INT’L MOBILE RELOAD
Three companies get NOC from BTRC
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission on Monday issued no objection certificate to three companies for providing international mobile
balance reloading service from abroad.
The new service will allow any person living outside Bangladesh to reload mobile phones operated in Bangladesh.
The three companies are Firefly, ValuePlus Computer System and E-Blink Solution which will offer non-resident Bangladeshis reloading facility to mobile phones for any mobile phone operator of Bangladesh.
The companies have to run the business through agreement with foreign counterparts for receiving the foreign currency which will be transferred as the taka to the recipient mobile phone in Bangladesh.
The companies will not be allowed to transfer the money in any other form rather than mobile reloading and have to maintain the currency rate mentioned by Bangladesh Bank at the time of such transaction.
No service charge or installation fees can be imposed to the service beneficiary other than the amount of money reloaded through the system.
The companies have to submit approval from Bangladesh Bank, revenue sharing model between the company and its network provider 15 days before launching the operation commercially.
The company and respective network provider will be liable for maintaining the payment system management through the local and international banks involved with the process.
The companies will not provide any customised or exclusive service or packages of their own other than mobile phone operators are providing in Bangladesh.
The three companies will not receive any order or money from the foreign reloads rather it will only communicate with their foreign partners for such matter.
The companies have to buy pre-paid airtime from the network providers or the mobile phone companies.
