The three-day practice match between Bangladesh Green and Red ended in a dull draw after the end of the third and final day’s play at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Thursday.
Bangladesh Green, led by national captain Mushfiqur Rahim, posted 171-5 in 46 overs in their second innings when the stumps were drawn for the day.Mushfiq was unbeaten on 37 while Shahriar Nafees also spent some valuable time in the crease as he notched a half-century.
Abdur Razzak picked up two wickets for Bangladesh Red in the second innings to finish with nine wickets in the match.
Earlier, Bangladesh Red took a lead of 123 runs after
finishing their first innings on 391 before being all out in 88.3 overs. Resuming on their overnight score of 282-5, Red added 99 more runs losing the remainder of their five wickets.
Marshal Ayub, who was batting on 147 at stumps on day two, added only 10 runs before falling to left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr, while Soumya Sarkar grabbed a century for Red after continuing from his unbeaten 55 the previous day.
Rubel Hossain, Robiul Islam, Sohag Gazi and Enamul Haque Jr scalped two wickets each for Green.
Green had earlier scored 268-10 in their first innings from 97.2 overs.
The three-dayer was arranged as part of the national team’s preparation for the upcoming home series against New Zealand, comprising two Tests, three one-day internationals and a one-off Twenty20 international.
The Kiwis are scheduled to arrive on October 1.
