At least three people were killed and another was injured in separate road accidents in Bagerhat and Dinajpur districts yesterday.
A correspondent from Bagerhat reports: Two people were killed and another was injured in a road accident on Bagerhat-Pirojpur road at Srirampur of the district yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Bashir Hawladar, 26, son of Afzal Hawladar of village Lemua of Barguna and Md Rafikul Islam Daria, 50, son of Dhola Mia Daria of village Macchbari of Gopalganj. Injured Shibpod Das, 55, was admitted to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital.
Locals said the accident occurred when a scrap-loaded truck went out of control and crashed into a roadside tree.
Our correspondent from Dinajpur adds: A woman was killed in a road accident at Chirirbandar upazila in the district yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Jesmin Ara Bulbuli, 25, a garment worker of CK Sweater of Dinajpur.
Police said the accident took place when a Chririrbandar-bound speedy passenger bus hit Jesmin from behind in front of the sweater factory while she was going to her work place.
