Tiger Woods is facing an accusation of sexual harassment by his ex-girlfriend Erica Herman, according to a court filing by Herman’s attorney in Florida on Friday.
Woods’ ex-girlfriend, Eric Herman, is suing the golf superstar in an attempt to nullify the non-disclosure agreement prior to the two beginning their relationship.
Herman alleges Woods committed sexual harassment while the two were dating, and that she should be allowed to speak about it under the the Federal Speak Out Act. The act “prohibits the judicial enforceability of a nondisclosure clause or nondisparagement clause agreed to before a dispute arises involving sexual assault or sexual harassment in violation of federal, tribal, or state law.”
Now Herman is opening up, revealing even more details about their relationship in her latest court filings.
In October 2022, Woods ended the relationship through what Herman describes as a “scheme”: He told her to pack a bag for a short trip to the Bahamas, but when the two arrived at the airport, Woods told her to speak to his lawyer, and he boarded the plane without her,” Jay Busbee of Yahoo Sports reports.
“Then, Mr. Woods’s California lawyer, out of the blue, told her that she was not going anywhere, would never see Mr. Woods again, had been locked out of the house, and could not return,” Herman’s court filing states. “She would not even be able to see the children or her pets again.”
Woods’ laywers, however, says this isn’t how things went down.
“Ms. Herman was invited to live in the Residence while she was in a relationship with her former boyfriend, Eldrick Woods, who continues to live in the Residence with his two children,” his attorneys said in a March motion seeking to force arbitration. “After Mr. Woods recently terminated the relationship, Ms. Herman was advised that she was no longer welcome in the Residence.”
It seems as if we’re only just scratching the surface of this case. And Tiger Woods could have far more stressful days ahead of him in 2023.
