Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd will install 8,600 pre-paid gas meters in the residential areas of Dhanmondi and Mohammadpur in the capital by March 2015. To this end, Titas Gas signed an agreement with Itron Metering Systems Singapore Pte Ltd in the city on Tuesday, said a news release. Titas Gas company secretary Moshtak Ahmed and Itron Metering Systems senior director (sales) Malcolm Munro signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides. Titas Gas managing director Md Nawshad Islam was, among others, present on the occasion.
The Asian Development Bank and the Bangladesh government will finance the project, the release said.
