Azmeri Osman, son of Nasim Osman, a Jatiya party lawmaker, led a team that brutally killed Tanvir Hossain Toki, said an accused in his confessional statement.
Shokat alias Vromor gave the confessional statement before the court of senior judicial magistrate KM Mohiuddin under section of 164 on Tuesday. The body of Toki, a brilliant student, was thrown into the Sittolokkha river after killing him, Vromor said adding the body was transported in the car owned by Azmeri, which is now absconding.
On March 6 this year, Toki, son of cultural activist Rafiur Rabbi, went on missing. His body was found on March 8, two days after the murder. Rafiur Rabbi filed a murder case accusing some unidentified persons for the killing of his son on that night.
Later, he made a complaint against six people including Awami League leader Shamim Osman and his son Ayan Osman, to the Narayanganj police super.
According to him, Tokhi was killed at college road area of the district on March 6 at the directive of Azmeri.
Earlier on Monday night, Vromor was arrested from Rupganj area in Narayanganj.
On March 18, Narayanganj Ganajagaran Mancha organiser Rafiur Rabbi, father of Toki, submitted a written complaint to the police super of Narayanganj naming seven suspects, in connection with the murder.
