British actor Tom Holland suffered a mild concussion while filming the upcoming Marvel film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.
The injury, described as minor, resulted in Holland taking a break from filming for several days as a safety measure.
The incident occurred on Friday (September 19) during shooting in Glasgow, Variety confirmed. While no one else was injured, Holland will take a short break from filming as a precaution.
Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are expected to meet on Monday to assess the production schedule going forward.
Filming on the project began in early August, with a theatrical release set for July 31, 2026. Just last month, Sony shared a behind-the-scenes video of Holland donning his new Spider-Man suit for the first time since 2021’s “No Way Home”. “It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on Spider-Man,” Holland said in the clip, calling the experience both exciting and high-pressure.
The film reunites Holland with franchise regulars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, while introducing new cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Tramell Tillman (Severance), and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear). Returning MCU veterans include Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Michael Mando reprising his role as the Scorpion
Despite the setback, industry insiders expect production to resume quickly, with Holland’s condition reportedly stable.
