The National Board of Revenue on Monday requested the country’s trade bodies, chambers, associations, professional and research organisations to send to the NBR through e-mail by March 15 their budget proposals for the next fiscal year of 2014-2015.
The revenue board suggested that they should also send their budget proposals to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry by the deadline.
The organisations which are not affiliated with any chamber or association are requested to send their proposals directly to the NBR, NBR officials said.
The officials said the sector-wise pre-budget discussion with the stakeholders on their budget proposals might start from April 1.
A news release singed by Abdus Samad Al Azad, chief budget coordinator of the NBR, said that the revenue board would start pre-budget consultation meetings with the stakeholders
soon for preparing a participatory, pro-people, industry and business friendly and revenue potential budget for the next fiscal year.
The NBR will consider the proposals sent by the stakeholders while preparing budget documents, it said.
The stakeholders are requested to send their proposal to NBR using e-mail addresses nbrbudget2014@gmail.com and nbrbudget2014@yahoo.com.
Earlier, the three wings of the revenue board — customs, value-added tax and income tax — requested the chambers, associations and other stakeholders to send their budget proposals by February 28.
