Armed miscreants looted Tk 4 lakh from a businessman after
shooting at him in Sylhet city on Saturday.
The victim was Nurul Islam, 38, owner of a mobile phone recharging shop at Darbazar of Companiganj upazila in the district.He was admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
The police said 4 miscreants on two motorcycles stopped the auto-rickshaw which was carrying Nurul Islam in front of Sylhet Cadet College on the Airport Road at around 2:30pm.
‘The armed miscreants shot me in the thigh as I denied to give them the money and then snatched away the bag containing Tk 4 lakh from me,’ Nurul Islam, who was undergoing treatment at SOMCH, said in the evening.
Biman Bandar police station officer-in-charge Khayrul Fazal said they were investigating into the matter.
