A mobile court on Friday jailed for three months the managers of two drinking
water producing factories at Tejgaon in the capital.
The court, jointly launched by the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution and the Dhaka administration, and led by magistrate Md Saiful Islam, awardedthe jail term to the managers of Azad Drinking Water and Biva Enterprise on Tejgaon Station Road for marketing drinking water collecting directly from the WASA line without filtering it.
The court sealed off the factories, said a press release issued by BSTI on Friday.
Both the factories had no licence from BSTI, it also said.
