At least two people were killed in two road accidents in the capital on Wednesday.
The deceased were Abdul Barek, 40, a security guard of Independent University, and Syed Badrul Hasan, 20, son of Tapser Ali of Jagannathpur of Sunamganj.
Director of Independent University Bajlur Rahman said Barek was going to his workplace from his home in Norda under Bhatara police station on Wednesday morning.
As he reached Norda bazaar, a speedy bus of Suprabhat hit Barek in the wrong side, leaving him critically injured.
Locals took Barek to a nearby clinic but doctor referred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died from his injuries at about 11:00am.
On the Airport Road, Badrul was knocked by a bus when he was crossing the Airport intersection around 3:45pm on Wednesday, said Arjan Ali, cousin of Badrul.

Arjan said they came to the Airport area from Sunamganj to search for work in the capital.
