Two young men were gunned down by unidentified miscreants in the city’s Bildakatia area on Friday, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Ripon Sardar, 27, son of Dr M Jafar Iqbal, and his friend Mithun Sheikh, 26, son of Mannan Sheikh. Both are residents of Dewana Uttarpara in the city. Dr Jafar Iqbal has a clinic in Barisal. Sub-inspector of Aronghata Police Station Anwar Hossain said a gang of six miscreants riding on three motorcycles swooped on Ripon and Jafar around 4pm while they along with others were catching fish in a fish enclosure in the area, leaving the former dead on the spot and the latter injured. Later, Jafar succumbed to his injuries on the way to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
