Forty-five artistes of different branches of Udichi Shilpigoshthi in chorus presented the signature tune of the organisation, Arshir samne eka eka, at the 45th founding anniversary programme at TSC of Dhaka University on Tuesday.
Udichi Shilpigoshthi singers also performed the popular songs, they rendered on different occasions, such as Amra manusher joyogaan gai, Hushiyar, Dhor dhor dhor rajakar dhor and Gram theke jege utho. In addition, artistes from the Jagannath University branch and Gendaria branch of Udichi presented people’s songs in
chorus.
Udichi artistes Suraiya Parvin, Ashraful Alam and Biplob Raihan performed solo songs. They presented songs like Ami daam diye kinechhi Bangla, Ami marer sagor pari debo, whereas artistes from the Kafrul section of Udichi presented a dance recital. The programme also inculded recitations by Udichi artistes Belayet Hossain, Alok Basu and Shahadat Hossain Nipu.
Earlier, the programme started with national anthem sung by Udichi artistes. The programme was presided over by the Udichi central president Kamal Lohani. Language veteran Ahmad Rafiq, journalist Kazi Madina, among others delivered speech at the programme.
Udichi Shilpigoshthi was formed on October 29 in 1968 by Satyen Sen and Ranesh Dasgupta along with the other founding members. Since then, the organisation has been active in national movements.
