The University Grants Commission has honoured three teachers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, including its vice chancellor Pran Gopal Datta,
for their fundamental and innovative researches.
The UGC awarded 23 scholars of the country for their innovative research work recently, said a press release of the BSMMU.
Pran Gopal Datta was awarded for his research ‘Tubercular Lymphadenitis: Diagnostic Evaluation’. It is believed to be an important contribution to the detection and treatment of tuberculosis.
BSMMU infertility expert Parvin Fatema was honoured for her contribution to the work on blood and semen linkages.
BSMMU assistant professor Fouzia Hossain was honoured for research in the field of ovarian cancer.
