University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh celebrated its 18th foundation day with great enthusiasm on Saturday, said a press release.
Information and broadcasting minister Hasan Mahmud was present as chief guest at the event.
The celebration started with the university theme song followed by the welcome speech of Kazi Anis Ahmed, vice-president of the university’s board of trustees, while vice-chancellor professor Imran Rahman was present. The board of trustees’ member Kazi Nabil Ahmed, MP, reflected on the journey of the university.
The minister praised the green campus and thanked the university authorities for thinking differently in terms of designing its academic curriculum.
Kazi Nabil Ahmed recalled the contribution of the university founder Kazi Shahid Ahmed. He also remembered the contribution of late national professor Rafiqul Islam.
Moderated by senior lecturer of ULAB School of Business Arzoo Ismail, the event was also attended by special adviser to board of trustees, treasurer, registrar, deans of schools, heads of departments, faculty members, administrative officials, alumni and students.
