President advises foreign service officials

President Iajuddin Ahmed yesterday termed foreign service officials mirror of the county and hoped they would uphold Bangladesh’s image abroad.
Iajuddin made the remark when a 10-member delegation of the Foreign Service Academy led by its Principal Ambassador Shahed Akhtar called on him at Banga-bhaban. The delegation comprised trainee officers and faculties of the academy.
“Foreign service officials are key instrument for promoting bilateral relations between Bangladesh and foreign countries,” he told the team.
The president called upon them to work with high professionalism and patriotism abroad for further expansion of trade and economy, employment opportunities and bilateral relations. He urged the trainees to acquire time-befitting, knowledge- based professionalism so they could portray country’s positive image abroad. The trainees assured the president that they are highly committed to enhancing Bangladesh’s image in the outer world during their assignments in future.
The delegation expressed their gratitude to the president for giving them time and also informed him about various activities of the academy. Secretary of the President’s Office Md Sirajul Islam, Military Secretary to the President Major General Mohammad Ruhul Amin and President’s Press Secretary Abdul Awal Howlader were present.
