A month-long youth festival featuring film screening, exhibition, discussion sessions and music are going on at the Goethe-Institut in Dhanmondi.
The institute has organsied the festival to celebrate the spirit of the urban youths of Bangladesh with focal points including student politics,
secularism and social Media, and arts.
German deputy ambassador Dr Fardinand Von Weyne and director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky jointly inaugurated the festival on Thursday.
The urban youths of the country share their thoughts through installations, wall paintings, photo shows, concerts and discussion sessions.
The displayed photo show segment of the festival, Portrait of Politics, features photographs on contemporary politics captured by youngsters.
The exhibition also features art installations such as Thoughtlessness, We Are Bangladeshi Too, Slogan, Pawns vs. Royals and Origami done by the young artists.
Moreover, a mime production titled Cross Connection was presented by the artistes of Dhaka University Mime Action on the opening day.
The festival also includes two films screening sessions titled Invisible Boundaries and The Sky Isn’t Always Blue.
The festival is open every day from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
