Zimbabwe captain Prosper Utseya is looking forward to utilising the spin-friendly wicket to their advantage as they practised at the Chittagong divisional stadium on Wednesday.
Zimbabwe, who lost the last two one-dayers because of their inability to bat against the spinning quartet of Bangladesh, also have as many spinners as the hosts.
‘We played here before, the wicket here spins more than what we had in Dhaka.
So we think we will be able to put on a competitive total here,’ said the stand-in captain.
‘The guys are working hard in the nets and they are looking forward to the next two games here. And we are trying hard to rectify the mistakes that we made in the previous two games,’ he added.
The Zimbabwe captain is still hopeful that if they can win the next match then they will have a good chance of winning the series.
‘Our spinners have put in good performances in the last four years and I expect them to play well in Chittagong, we still hope to win the series. If we can manage to win today then we will be in the series again,’ Utseya said.
