Police arrested a most wanted criminal Sunday night from Jamira Road under Phultala upazila in Khulna. The arrestee was identified as Parvez Sheikh, 24.
The Phultala police officer-in-charge, Md Imdad Hossain, said the arrestee was accused in several cases in the last two years.Police also seized a Japanese pistol, a one-shooter, five bullets and one live hand bomb from his possession.
Eye witnesses told the New Age that the alleged miscreant, accompanied by two of his associates, entered Anjali Telecom shop on Jamira Road at around 11:00pm on Sunday and looted Tk 70,000 from cash box keeping proprietor of the shop at gunpoint.
While fleeing with the money, subinspector Dulal Saha and subinspector Yasin Biswas caught Parvez Sheikh but his two other associates managed to escape.
Dulal Saha lodged an FIR as complainant on Monday under arms act, accusing the arrestee and two of his absconding associates.
