Dav Whatmore, the former national cricket coach, is due to arrive in Dhaka today for the first time since his departure on May 2007.
Whatmore, currently working as a coach of the Cricket Association of Bengal, will take over the responsibilities of the touring CAB U-17 side, who are currently playing a series against their Bangladesh counterparts.
He will replace Goutam Shom, the coach of the side who is leaving to be with
his ailing father, said an official of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Whatmore will go to Comilla, where the visiting team will start a three dayer. Bangladesh U-17 registered a 136-run victory against the visitors at Sylhet in the first three-day match at Sylhet.
