The women leaders of Amra Narayanganjbashi, a citizens’ forum, laid siege to the Titas gas office at BB Road in the Narayanganj town Wednesday afternoon, demanding adequate supply of gas.
They formed a human chain in front of the office with kerosene and earthen stoves saying that if the authorities would fail to ensure the uninterrupted supply of gas within three days, they would go for tougher agitation programmes.
The leaders said they had to do their daily
cooking at midnight after the daylong fasting as
the pressure of gas at that time was comparatively high.
They even could not make iftar at home, they added.
Amra Narayanganjbashi women branch convener Anjuman Ara Aksir, Khodeza Khanom Nasrin, Roksana Kabir, Momtaj Begum, Mili Hossain, Kamrun Nahar and Mukti Begum addressed the rally among others.
Later, they held demonstration in front of the district press club.
