The Bangladesh Cricket Board has all but cleared the national women’s cricket team’s proposed tour to Pakistan as the security delegation that visited the country earlier this month gave a positive report, said an official. Bangladesh women’s cricket team are expected to play three one-day internationals and as many Twenty20 internationals against their Pakistani rivals during the series, starting on September 27.
A four-member security team of BCB visited Pakistani cities of Karachi and Lahore on September 5 ahead of the proposed tour and has already submitted their report.
The BCB was waiting for its president Nazmul Hasan to return from abroad before making a formal announcement.
But Awal Chowdhury, the chairman women’s wing of the BCB, said on Friday the security team found the arrangement in Pakistan satisfactory.
‘The security arrangements were satisfying but we have some other issues to be resolved,’ Chowdhury told New Age.
‘We have asked them [Pakistan Cricket Board] whether the spectators will be allowed or not during the matches because this is related to security issues.’
