A young man was beaten to death by unidentified miscreants in the capital’s Chwakbazar area early Saturday. The deceased was Md Billal Hossain, 20, an employee of a local plastic factory.
The Chwakbazar police officer-in-charge, Azizul Haque, said they recovered the body from his house at Rahmayganj in the morning. The body bore several marks of injuries, he added.
The victim’s uncle Arju Miah said Billal went out of the house on Friday evening as two of his friends called him and did not return that night.
However, the friends brought him back in a wounded condition on early Saturday and left the scene, Arju Miah said.
The family could not take him to hospital immediately and the man died in the morning, the OC said.
The police suspected that Billal might have been killed over previous enmity, he added.
