The Bangladesh Under-19s recorded their second win in as many matches in the International Cricket Council U-19 World Cup after defeating Namibia by 52 runs in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Monday.
Electing to take first strike after winning the toss, the young Tigers posted 233-5 in 50 overs. Mosaddek Hossain was the highest scorer with 70 runs from 76 balls while opener Shadman Islam scored a patient 109-ball 65.
In reply, Namibia were all out for 181 in 49 overs, falling short by 52 runs. Mustafizur Rahman scalped 3-24 while Mosaddek followed up his effort with the bat by taking 3-19. Nihaduzzaman grabbed two while Rahatul Ferdous and Mehedy Hasan picked up one wicket apiece.
The Bangladesh U-19s, though, will have to wait till the conclusion of their last match against Australia on Wednesday before knowing if they progressed to the Super League quarterfinals.
Afghanistan shocked Australia by 36 runs on Monday to throw Group B wide open and by the time the Afghans face Namibia on Wednesday, things will be much clearer.
