Bangladeshi Grand Master Ziaur Rahman attained 12th position in the Masters event of the 89th Hastings International Chess Congress. Held at Horntye Park in East Sussex, England, Zia earned 6 points in the tournament after the conclusion of the ninth and final round. In the final round, Zia defeated England’s Knott Simon on Saturday. GM Mikhail Mchedlisvili of Georgia clinched the championship while Germany’s GM Khenkin Igor was runner-up.
