Bangladeshi GM Ziaur Rahman, GM Enamul Hossain Razib and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag earned 1.5 points each after the 2nd round matches of the 6th Mayor Cup International Open Chess
Tournament held in the Indian city of Mumbai on Thursday.
Two other Bangladeshi players FM Debaraj Chatterjee and Kazi Mahbub Afzal earned one point each after the 2nd round matches. In the day’s 2nd round, Parag drew with Indian GM Akshayraj Kore;
Razib beat Mithil Ajgaonkar of India; Zia drew with Kulkarni Chinmay of India; Debaraj lost to GM Vadim Malakhatko of Belarus; and Afzal lost to IM Akshat Khamparia of India. In the other 2nd round matches, Taher, Zoar and Kashem of Bangladesh lost to IM Ravichandran Siddharth, FM Thankur Akash and FM Vinoth Kumar of India respectively.
