The Zimbabwe cricket team were fined due to maintaining a slow over-rate during the second Test match against Bangladesh as they were three overs short of its target at the end of the match in Harare, said an International Cricket Council press-release on Tuesday.
ICC’s elite panel match referee Chris Broad imposed the fine on the home team at the end of the match when time allowances were taken into consideration.
Bangladesh won the match by 143 runs to level the two-match Test series.
Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor was fined 60 per cent of his match fee while his teammates received 30-per-cent fines.
In accordance with the ICC code of conduct for players and player support personnel, and in particular the regulations contained therein governing minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 per cent of their match |
fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.
Earliar Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal was fined 10 per cent of his match fee for showing dissent.
