The National University administration has raised Tk 12 lakh from one-day salary of teachers, officials and employees and sent them to Sylhet to help the flood victims.
Twelve colleges in the region have been tasked with delivering food aid. With the money collected, the students of 12 colleges will make ruti on their own and food items in the colleges.
Then they will deliver the food to the flood affected people. The Bangladesh Army will help in delivering these hand-made breads and food items to remote areas.
On Thursday afternoon, the vice-chancellor Md Mashiur Rahman met with the principals of 12 colleges in the Sylhet region in an emergency meeting through the online platform Zoom App.
In addition to the college principals, education minister Dipu Moni and a responsible officer of the army also joined the meeting virtually, said a press release.
