While the high profile actors of small screen are overloaded with two-digit numbers of projects, popular actor Shahiduzzaman Selim is coming up with around seven TV productions including single-episode plays and telefilms during Eid-ul-fitr.
New Age recently interviewed the gifted actor to talk about his Eid schedule. ‘I don’t want to pack my schedule with as many as I can grab. If I simultaneously work for many productions I can’t provide quality works,’ said Selim.
The actor is currently busy with shooting of a telefilms—Dushshaha Dharmini. ‘I play the role of a very careerist person in the film. The role is apparently negative as he can do anything for the betterment of his career and at a point of time he even uses his wife to do so,’ said Selim.
The versatile actor will be seen in a humorous role in a single-episode play titled Relax Boss. ‘The story of the play revolves around an advertising firm where many funny incidents happen. I played the role of the boss,’ Selim said.
In another single-episode play, titled Chorer Bou, Selim played the role of the head of a family whose house is visited by a thief.
The regular actor of silver screen has been entertaining the audiences with both mega serials and single-episode productions. Besides, he is also an accredited director and provided the industry with hit serials like Sporsher Baire, Rangchhut and others. Directed by Selim, mega-serial Samantha is being aired on Maasranga Television and already making waves.
Since early 1980s, Selim has been an active member of Dhaka Theatre and performing an important character in Dhaka Theatre’s current production Dhaboman. He has played the role of Chunilal in Devdas, directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam, which will be released during the coming Durga Puja. Dhaliwood star Shakib Khan acted the lead character in the movie.
