13 base stations launched in Sylhet
Teletalk launched 13 3G base stations in Sylhet city yesterday, bringing 90 percent of the city under the 3G network. The stations are in Subidbazar, Pashchim Pir Mohalla, Kazitola, Akhalia-Noyapara, Shibganj, Tero Roton, Shahjalal Uposhahar’s H block, Tilagar-Rajpara, Jatarpur, Subidbazar, Bagbari, Ghashitola and Mirapara. Teletalk Assistant Manager (transmission) Muntasirur Rahman said 12 stations were already functioning in the city since August 1 and another four at Chouhatta, Kumarpara, Kolapara and Sheikhghat areas would be launched after Eid-ul-Fitr. The first base stations were scheduled to be launched in March but was delayed mainly due to late installation of equipment, he said.
