The ruling 14-party alliance on Monday announced fresh programmes in a bid to what they said ‘resist the anarchy of the communal and anti-liberation forces’. The programme includes holding of rally from May 2 to May 4 across the country. Briefing the media after the 14-party meeting, Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim said, the communal and fanatic forces are being patronised by BNP and Jamaat. They will have to take the responsibility for any untoward situation, he added.
Referring to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s recent speech at a public meeting, Nasim said, never in the history of the country opposition leaders threatened for bloodshed in a public meeting. “We shall also hold view exchange meeting with the leaders of different women organisations at 11 am on April 18,” he said.
Responding to a question, Nasim said, the bomb attack on the residence of AL leader Mahbubul Alam Hanif was perpetrated by anti-liberation forces as he was vocal against them. “The 14-party will hold a protest meeting in this regard” he added.
“The 14-party believes that a fanatic section wants to create anarchy in the country. We will take a strong stance against communalism and anarchy,” said Nasim.
Nasim alleged that Hefajat-e-Islam wants to create anarchy again through its Dhaka siege programme next month.
