The total number of unemployed people in the country is 2.1 million, labour and employment minister Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain said in parliament on Sunday
Answering to a question from Moshtak Ahmed Rumi, the minister gave the information quoting the labour force survey of the statistics bureau.
He, however, said that there was no statistics of the educated unemployed people.
The minister pointed out different moves of the government taken so far for the welfare of the unemployed people.
He said that the government arranged training programmes for young boys and girls at 37 technical training centers which would help them to get job.
