The police foiled a bid to sell two female garment workers to Daulatdia brothel in Goalanda upazila and arrested their trafficker Monday night.
The victims were Hazera Khatun, 18, and Amena Begum, 18. They are workers of Redoy Knitwear in Tongi and both are residents of Kendua upazila of Netrakona.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a nearby house, owned by Jahanara Begum, of the brothel at about 10:00pm and rescued the girls, who were brought here in the name of providing them with lucrative job.
The police said they arrested a trafficker Lucky Akter, 38, in this connection.
The police said miscreants tactfully brought the girls here for selling them to the brothel.
A case was filed.
The rescued girls have been kept under safe custody.
