Two workers were killed in a boiler explosion in a rice mill at Narayanpur Trimohoni in sadar upazila on Thursday night. The victims were identified as Shafiuddin,35, of Naodapara village of sadar upazila and Aslam Hossain,40, of Shailakupa upazila. Two other workers-Abdullah,28 and Khairul Hossian-suffered burn injuries following the blast. Police said when the boiler of Ifad auto rice mill exploded with a big bang around 10 am the mill collapsed that left two workers dead on the spot. Local people, fire fighters and police rushed in and rescued other workers who were trapped under the collapsed mill. They retrieved the bodies and sent those to sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. The injured were rushed to sadar hospital from where Abdullah was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
