Around 25 kilograms of gold bar worth about Tk 9 crore from a toilet of an aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines was recovered on Saturday noon. The Biman flight (Flight No. 044) arrived in the Shahjalal International Airport tarmac from Kuwait.
Confirming the matter to The Independent, ASP of Armed Forces Battalion (APBn), Ehteshamul Haq said, “No
one was detained in this connection.”
Customs Officer Zakia Sultana said, “The customs detectives came to know about the huge gold haul. The smugglers fled away leaving 227 gold bars in the toilet of the flight.” No case was filed, Shajalal Airport Police Station sources said on condition of anonymity.
