The final results of the 32nd Bangladesh Civil Service examination (special) were published yesterday with 2,592 candidates coming out successful.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) has recommended 1,680 candidates out of the successful ones for recruitment in different cadres, said a PSC press release.
The results are available on the commission’s website (www.bpsc.gov.bd).
A total of 26,437 entrants applied for the special BCS exam and 2,788 were called for a viva after they passed the preliminary and written tests.
Of them, 2,675 took part in the spoken test that was held from October 31 to November 11 last year and 2,592 passed.
The highest number of appointees is in the health cadre.
The PSC said it is not possible to recommend all the successful applicants for appointment to cadre posts due to a lack of vacancies.
“Efforts will be taken” to offer 1st-class, non-cadre posts to the remaining successful candidates as per the non-cadre appointment (special) rules of 2010.
However, “No assurance of appointment can be given,” observed the PSC, adding the details will be made public through newspaper advertisements.
On October 19, 2011, the PSC published the circular of the examination to fill 1,489 vacant posts.
