The foreign ministry officials confirmed the death of three Bangladeshi expatriates in ‘fire’ by ‘miscreants’ in South Africa’s capital Pretoria on Sunday.
They, however, said the Bangladesh High Commission in South Africa could identify only two victims — Selim Dewan and Faruk Dewan. Identity of the third victim is yet to be confirmed, said Shameem Ahsan, the external publicity director general of the foreign ministry.
Both the identified victims are from Laxmipur, he said.
He said the Bangladesh high commission was working to repatriate the human remains and find out more information.
