At least three people were killed in separate incidents in the capital early Saturday and on Friday night.
One was stabbed to death at Mirpur early Saturday. A man was found dead in his house at Khilkhet and a woman died in a road accident on Airport Road late Friday.
The Kafrul police found a man stabbed to death near the Hermann Gmeiner College early Saturday.
The deceased was Shariful Islam, from Jamalpur in Thakurgaon. He was a rickshaw-puller.
Kafrul police subinspector Premdas Roy said that they had found the body about 1:40am on Saturday.
A murder case was filed.
Another man was found dead at his house in Pink City at Khilkhet in the capital on Friday night.
The deceased was Sayeed Hasan Pallab, 39, of Goran in the capital.
Khilkhet police subinspector Monirul Islam said that the police had found the body in his house as his wife informed them of the incident.
The victim’s wife Tahsina Hasan said that she had found her husband dead when she returned home from her parents’ about 8:30pm on Friday.
The police could not establish the reason for the death but suspected that he might have died after being poisoned or taking an overdose of alcohol.
An unnatural death case was filed.
An unnamed woman, aged about 25, was found dead near the Kaola Bridge on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway on Friday night.
Airport police subinspector Mamunur Rashid said that the police had found the body about 10:00pm on Friday. The woman might have been killed in a road accident.
