Three people, including two members of a family, were killed and three others injured as a bus rammed a human hauler on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Gobindapur in Chandina upazila on Tuesday, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Mazeda Begum, 45, wife of Abdul Wahab, her grand daughter Jannat, 3, daughter of Ziaur Rahman and Masud, 18, a human hauler driver and son of Suruj Miah of Garochar village in Burichang upazila.
Witnesses said the accident took place in the area at about 2:15 pm when Dhaka-bound bus ‘Dhaka Express’ hit a human hauler coming from the opposite direction, leaving Mazeda and Masud dead on the spot and four others injured.
Of the injured, Jannat died on way to hospital while the others were admitted to a local hospital.
Amar Chandra Das, sub-inspector of Highway Police said police recovered the bodies. Police seized the bus but the driver managed to flee.
