Three people were killed in separate traffic accidents in Sylhet, Magura and Bagerhat districts on Friday. In Sylhet, a young passerby was killed as a truck ran him over on Sylhet-Tamabil road in Khadimpara Bypass point area of sadar upazila around 12:00pm.
The deceased was identified as Afsar Miah, 21, son of Nur Miah of Khadimpara village. The police seized the truck and arrested its driver.
In Magura, a young woman was killed as a truck rammed a motorbike at Kashipur in Mohammadpur upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Hosneara Begum, 24, wife of Hafizur Rahman of Raipur village in the upazila. Matiur Rahman, who was riding on the motorbike, was injured in the accident.
The truck driver Manik was arrested. In Bagerhat, the assistant of a covered van driver was killed as his vehicle crashed into a stationary truck on Khulna-Mongla highway in Failabazar area of Rampal upazila in the morning.
