Three Bangladeshi films have been selected for screening at the fifteenth edition of London Rainbow Film Festival which will
begin on May 25 and end on June 1.
The selected films are Samia Zaman’s Akash Koto Dure, Khalid Mahmud Mithu’s Jonakir Alo and Gazi Rakayet’s Mrittika Maya.
The festival, which aims to widen the market for Bangladeshi films abroad and also entertain non-resident Bangladeshis with best films of the world, will screen fifteen films and documentaries altogether. Brady Arts Centre in London has been selected as the venue for the festival.
All the three Bangladeshi films have been produced by Impress Telefilm. Samia Zaman’s Akash koto Dure is about an orphan boy named Bicchu who resides in an orphanage. He, eventually, gets involved with a criminal gang where children are involved in criminal activity. The film will be screened at 6pm on May 26.
Gazi Rakayet’s Mrittika Maya is a tragic portrayal of an old potter’s life and struggles. Mrittika Maya will be screened on May 27.
On the other hand, Khalid Mahmud Mithu’s Jonakir Alo is a female-dominated film with a shade of a love triangle. This film will be screened on May 29.
