The Dhaka University authorities on Tuesday formed a three-member committee to investigate the incident of attack on the journalists on Dhaka University campus.
The university proctor, Amzad Ali, headed the committee that also included
assistant proctors — Mofizul Islam and Rabiul Islam.They would submit report as soon as possible.
‘We must submit report within two or three working days and take action regarding the attack on journalists early Monday,’ said Amzad Ali.
Some 21 Chhatra League activists of Salimulla Muslim Hall beat up five journalists while trying to gather information about alleged extortion by the activists.
The university authorities identified 21 Chhatra League activists involved in the assault and handed over six of them to the Shahbagh police.
Witnesses said some Chhatra League activists extorted money by stopping vehicles on the Fuller Road early Monday.
