Three young lives were cut short on the street of Dhaka as they were struck by a train on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at 6am in Mohakhali area, when a train en route from Kamalapur to Dewanganj hit the children as they attempted to cross the railway tracks.
The children, aged between 10 and 14, remain unidentified as they have no known family members or relatives, said Officer-in-Charge Ferdous Ahmed of Kamalapur Railway Police Station.
Eyewitnesses said despite desperate warnings from onlookers, the children attempted to navigate the railway tracks, meeting their unfortunate fate on the spot.
The bodies were sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue at 6:30 in the evening, as confirmed by the police officer.
