Communications Minister Obaidul Quader today said the government would construct third bridge over the Shitalakhya in Kanchpur area to ensure smooth transportation of passengers and goods.
‘The bridge will be built with the finance of Saudi government,’ he told reporters while visiting Jatrabari-Kanchpur area to see for himself the ongoing works for upgrading the busy stretch of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway to eight lanes.
During the visit lawmaker Abdullah Kawser, high officials of Roads and Highways Department (RHD) and other officials were present.
‘The work for upgrading the eight-kilometre Jatrabari-Kanchpur part of Dhaka-Chittagong highway would be complete shortly,’ Quader said.
