At least four people drowned and 25 went missing after a trawler with 70 passengers on board capsized at Chaitar Haor of the Kalmakanda upazila on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Hasina, 10, hailed from Maheshkhola village, Sajeda, 50 and Shima, 28, of Moddhanagar while the identity of other victim could not be known immediately.
The Dashderbazar bound trawler from Mahishkhala sank at the haor after being struck by strong current, Our Netrakona correspondent reports.
Twelve people were also injured as they tried to swim ashore, he added.
Khan Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Kalmakanda thana, confirmed the incident.
