At least 50 fishermen were allegedly kidnapped by pirate gang and one of fisherman suffered bullet injuries in the bay on Friday night. The injured was identified as Abdul Haque, 60, a fisherman of FB Ma-Moni of Cox’s Bazar area. He was first admitted to Kalapara upazila hospital and then sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.Quoting the injured, Alipur Fish Traders Association president Md Ansar Mollah said that the pirate gang committed robbery in several fishing trawlers in the bay from Friday midnight to Saturday morning.
The gang also kidnapped at least 50 fishermen of about 10 fishing trawlers, he added.
