In a span of three days, customs officials again seized at least 8 kilograms of gold worth about Tk 3.75 crore from a passenger of an incoming flight at Shah Amanat International Airport Wednesday morning. A man was arrested for his alleged involvement in gold smuggling, the officials said. He was identified as Jamal Uddin who flew to Chittagong from Dubai by a Biman flight BG-048.
Commissioner of Customs House Moshiur Rahman said that 75 gold bars weighing 8kg were found during a search of the bag of the passenger.
Earlier, the customs authorities seized 128 gold bars weighing 15 kilograms from a passenger of an incoming flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Monday morning.
