Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Sunday said the 8th Wage Board award for journalists, employees and other staff of newspapers and news agencies would be announced by this month.
He said this while talking to a delegation of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) at his office. The minister sat with the DUJ delegation to discuss different issues, including strengthening the Press Council and reviewing some rules and regulations, to make them time-befitting.
Inu said the Wage Board would submit its recommendations soon after taking into consideration the suggestions from the representatives of newspaper owners, journalists, employees and workers.
