A delegation from the Canadian high commission recently made a visit to the American International University-Bangladesh in Dhaka.
The team was headed by Debra Boyce, who serves as the counsellor and senior trade commissioner, along with Quazi Gulam Farhad, the trade commissioner, as noted in a press release on Monday.
During their visit, the delegation met with the management and senior officials of AIUB, including Ishtiaque Abedin, founder member of the board of trustees, AIUB, and secretary general of APUB; Professor Saiful Islam, AIUB vice-chancellor; Professor Nisar Ahmed, treasurer; Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, registrar; Professor Anwar Hossain, advisor and dean-in-charge, faculty of business administration; and Professor SAM Manzur H Khan, proctor.
The meeting focused on exploring future academic collaborations between the AIUB and the Canadian universities.
Key discussion points included student exchange programmes, faculty engagement opportunities and joint research initiatives.
Both parties also discussed fostering global academic partnerships and expanding higher education opportunities for the AIUB students.
